Today I thought maybe it was the beginning of spring, even though I walked out at around 9 am to the lightest ever sprinkling of snow. It was a beautiful morning none the less that turned into a gorgeous mid day even if it lasted but a few hours before it was cold and windy again. I wanted to start spring cleaning once I got home and begin my annual spring ritual of listening to Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes. This book is spring personified to me. However even though I really tried to make it spring, I even went out and had a lobster roll while I sat at the beach but it is not spring. So next week, I'm hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that I can channel the sun and warmth of spring. Until then I will leave these pics to remind me of my almost spring day.

It seems spring is close and It makes me think of spring cleaning both literally and figuratively. So I started out cleaning my apartment and then got to thinking how spring is about new things and that prompted me to really think about the things I want to learn to do. So I am making a list of three things I want to master( as close as I can get )before the fall. I watched Bitchin Kitchen Saturday night and remembered that I always wanted to learn to make homemade pasta. I don't have a lot of cooking accouterments I must confess so without a stand mixer or food processor I thought it was a task I would have to wait to take on. I am going to tackle it and toward that goal I went to Whole Foods and got myself some semolina flour. So I will be charting my progress towards this goal and finalizing my other two goals of the summer.

" You know people get up everyday, tell themselves they're gonna change their lives. They never do. I'm gonna change mine." Doug, The Town
So, my birthday was yesterday and I'm living in a new city, at a new job with new friends and this quote is something that I hope will spark change in my life. By spark I mean force really to take ownership in my life and to make the changes I know are needed to have the life I want. Oh and The Town is so one of my favorite movies and anytime I can quote it I Will!!So be on the look out for more quotes. One of the things I'm going to do is explore more, there so much to Boston and New England. More to come on the exploration.
